Alan Shearer makes 2.8million profit as Newcastle legend sells swanky six-bedroom house
Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has made a huge profit on the luxury Darras Hall home he purchased for £3million during the final few seasons of his playing days.
The former England striker, now a successful pundit, kept hold of the property to almost double his money, and the new owners have wasted little time in making improvements of their own.
Although the 51-year-old will not be short of cash following his 10-year-spell at St James' Park between 1996 and 2006, the property sale will come as a nice boost to his fortune.
Shearer, who is a regular on BBC Sport and also has a role with Premier League on Prime Video, has three children with wife Lainya, whom he met during his school days.

Mailonline report that Shearer has sold his Darras Hall, Northumberland home for double what he paid for it, saying that the recent takeover of Newcastle is set to boost house prices.
Having spent £3million on the new-build in 2004, it has now sold for £5.8million.
The luxury home includes six bedrooms, a swimming pool, media centre and even a bar.
Additionally, the new owners have already applied to build front and rear extensions, as well as a new roof with bumper floodlights.
