Prison guard had 'six month affair with an inmate in his cell and fell pregnant with his child'

A correctional officer in South Carolina is now in jail herself after it was discovered that she’d engaged in a sexual affair with an inmate and later fell pregnant with his child, prosecutors say.

Greschia Jene Brown, 29, was arrested on Tuesday on a number of charges relating to the alleged fling with the prisoner inside his cell at the Kirkland Correctional Institution, arrest warrants show.

Brown, from Columbia, is believed to have had sex with the unnamed inmate multiple times between June and December last year.

The South Carolina Department of Corrections Police Services discovered news of Brown’s pregnancy from cell phone and Facebook messages shared between the pair, investigators revealed.

She has now been charged with first-degree sexual misconduct with an inmate and misconduct in office.

The correctional officer is currently behind bars at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

It’s unclear whether she has been fired from her job as an officer at the Kirkland Correctional Institution, an all-male level three maximum security facility.
